Description

***My office is on the second floor, and there is no elevator!*** New Post-Op Clients: Please start by booking a "Post Op Consultation" so we can discuss your specific case and the care I am able to provide. I do operate quite a bit differently than many other post-op massage providers and what you may be seeing on social media, and discussing your needs and my recommended treatment plan will help us set clear expectations for your appointment(s). Receiving manual lymphatic drainage and other forms of body work has been proven to expedite recovery, relieve pain, reduce swelling, minimize the appearance of scars, assist with re-mobilizing tissue, and more. It is especially recommended in the first 6 weeks following cosmetic surgeries, but is beneficial for all. It is my philosophy to exclusively stick to Vodder method MLD (extremely light touch, moving the superficial lymphatic fluid without increasing any pressure to the body) for at least the first 2 weeks after surgery. This is the technique recommended by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. If you are looking for firm, vigorous post-op massage, we are not going to be the right fit. I start incorporating more pressure and other techniques after bruising and incisions are fully healed, usually at 2-4 weeks. This is for your safety and to prevent complications that can be associated with re-traumatizing the surgery site with aggressive massage during the acute healing phase. At the later stages as swelling goes down, it may be appropriate to add in other modalities such as scar tissue mobilization, cupping, massage with firmer pressure, in combination with manual lymphatic drainage and other lymphatic drainage techniques. I do treat scar tissue and fibrosis with various manual therapies, and these techniques can be helpful even years after your procedure. 30 minute sessions are appropriate for a brief intro to myself and my approach, as well as regular work post face-lift. For lipo, BBL, breast augmentation, tummy tuck, etc, please book 60-90 minutes if you are able. It is recommended to receive MLD as often as 3x per week for the first 4-6 weeks after surgery to prevent fibrosis. I do my best to accommodate every schedule and budget. Please inquire with me directly for a custom treatment plan and payment schedule if needed. NEW cancellation policy: For cancellations and reschedules within 48 hours, your card on file will be charged a $25 fee. This can be put towards a future service in the event of illness or emergencies. For same day cancellations and no-shows, your card on file will be charged the full service price.
